I’m a software engineer, and occasional gamer. The evolution of mainstream VR within these convenient home devices is amazing. I can’t wait to see what comes next! I grew up on and around water, but now live in the desert. I’ve had the good fortune to sail with friends in the past. I watched the TV series “Distant Shores”, and recently a video blog “Sam Holmes Sailing”, that rekindled my interest in cruising and travel. We’ll see where this goes…
I’ve been on three weekend sailing trips crewing on friends’ boats, a Catalina 32’ and Beneteau 36’, out of San Diego harbor. All other knowledge of sailing has been gleaned from books, podcasts, blogs, videos and broker and boatyard websites. I live in the desert, so the VR simulation gives me a fun, ‘virtually’ hands on, experience. Kudos to the authors!
